There’s a slightly sentimental ending to this story arc. I hope all of you readers have at least one person in your life who gets you like Leslie gets Vincent.
I like it when the uptight character gets to be one of the good guys. I always appreciated Firefly for letting the audience empathize with Simon, even when the other characters thought he was a pain in the butt.
Sure it’s funny to make these people seem stuffy, humorless, and unlikeable, but that never felt sincere to me and I suspect that writing off this kind of person in fiction makes it easier to write them off in real life as well.
