This is the first time Malcorona has gotten really angry. Let's hope it's the last.   (It won't be.)

    Hmm. Thing is the Lupine warriors stay in the same place and they have their own problems. How are they a threat?

      I feel like writing a long answer to this, so get comfortable.

      First, the Alpha Lupine Warriors do leave the village for assignments. They leave home to take jobs as hired guards and soldiers, just like Venati did when he found Jester. I may have already drawn some warriors in the backgrounds in other towns. There is even a rouge warrior working as Wicked Enforcer (he has the markings on his face, but doesn’t wear the stripes.)

      But the warriors are still loyal to the ideals of the old kingdom, so if someone like Malcorona were to force his way onto the throne, they would probably intervene.

      I want Malcorona to be scary-powerful, but not unrealistically powerful. If Malcorona were as strong as an entire clan of elite warriors, then either the Alpha Lupines would be weaker than advertised, or Malcorona should be strong enough to take over the kingdom already. As things are now, Malcorona is in a constant stand-off with everyone who wants to keep him from taking control. He’s almost strong enough to conquer the Alpha Lupines and the Fabelore Royal Guard, then oppress everyone else who opposes him. But as long as his power is equal to his enemies, he can’t take over. Malcorona is constantly looking for ways to tip the balance of power, which is why we wanted to find the king’s treasure it the first place.

        Okay, that makes a lot of sense actually. I hope Draconis and Jester didn’t inadvertently upset the balance.
