Dang, I just promised to start drawing more elaborate backgrounds, but then the story takes us to Vincent's early apartment, which is supposed to look gray and sparse. Years ago, I wrote a part of a (unfinished) story in which Vincent unexpectedly receives visitors for the first time in ages. He suddenly realizes that he does not own any extra chairs, since he never seems to have guests to entertain, and everyone needs to sit on the floor for the duration of the visit. It would be long and unnecessary to squeeze that back-story into the current story arc, but that is why everyone is sitting on the floor here (in case you're wondering).
