DW Ch13 P34

"Turn and face the sea dramatically with me."

Edit: I've made some adjustments to this page. I didn't like the flow of the original version, so I added an extra establishing panel and moved the original last panel to the next page. I also thought of the thought bubble dialogue while I was adjusting the art. It just feels right this way.

Here's the old version, in case you're interested:

  1. How big is the crew that he doesn’t immediately realise that he doesn’t know them? Also, I’m inferring a lot from just a few lines, but I’m getting a real “I’d like to get to know you better, nudge, nudge, wink, wink” vibe from him.

    1. The crew is pretty small, only six people and a parrot. But Lyric and Cloaker have disguised themselves as copies of two crew members who just happen to be below deck right now. Also, Captain Keelhaul does have some boundaries with his crew, so this moment is a bit less “wink, wink,” and more “Ugh, dad wants to hang out, but I’m already doing stuff.”
