This scene was added late in the writing of this chapter when I realized that, although I liked the RingTails, they really didn't deserve to get the last laugh. Either Lyric or Cloaker wouldn't just walk away (and if Cloaker had been the one to retaliate, this chapter would have a much darker ending.)
In the original draft, the puppet was still going to look like Malcorona, but it occurred to me that Lyric would never use Malcorona's image in in silly, little, "gotcha back" prank. Once someone murders your family and friends, you can't really throw around their image for funsies anymore.
