Since Urban Underbrush is almost over and I don't know how all the characters will look in their next incarnation, it's probably safe to tell this story: The fall after Urban Underbrush debuted, My mom went shopping for my dad. She bought him a gold/tan flannel shirt with a very simple grid pattern on it. I thought it looked as close to a real-world version of Clive's shirt as possible. Of course, my dad only wears flannel shirts with brown shoes and blue jeans (thankfully, he tucks his shirt in, though.) I wasn't sure if my dad was reading my comics at the time, but I knew my mom was. I have no idea why she decided to buy my dad the Clive shirt. No one else in my family has ever noticed this, or at least, they have never mentioned it. I notice every time I see that shirt.

Purely accidental–the shirt for your father, that is. Of course I can’t say that subliminally I have been brainwashed to appreciate and be drawn to that tan plaid–probably from years of reading Urban Underbrush.
