It took me awhile to get the dialogue right for this comic. Obviously, I want to keep the content appropriate for all audiences, so the comic couldn't get too suggestive. Not that it even had to be suggestive anyway. There are plenty of ways to use or mislead someone without going straight to adult situations. Interpret the implications in whatever way you want. Also, I didn't want Maxwell's warning to sound too alarmist. Maxwell is usually pretty easy going, so it was important that his message sounded like, "Hey, try to keep this in mind before you start anything" instead of "How dare you consider flirting with a girl who may like you! Have you no shame?!" I guess these reactions seem more justified when you read the whole story arc. But in this strip alone, it may be hard to tell if Maxwell and Clive are being cautious or just white-knighting.
