I'm glad I added last week's comic to the story because it made a better segue into this installment. In my original outlines for Urban Underbrush, I had imagined the Grass Roots landlord as a mean businessman. He probably would have looked like balding businessman who we saw last week. There was going to be a running gag where each time the mean landlord met with Maxwell, Clayton and Vincent to discuss the state of the house, he would be so intimidating that Vincent would pass out at some point in the conversation. I ended up swapping the original landlord for Claude, who’s a better fit for this comic, but much less intimidating. So I had to scrap the running gag, which was kind of mean and not too clever anyway. So today’s comic is just a hint of that road not taken.
