EDIT: Next page will post on February 26th. (Sorry, other jobs are taking up my time, but I'll be back on track here soon.)

Whew, this page took forever - too may new characters and ship-riggings.

Here's a brief introduction to the Sea-Serpent Pirates:

  1. And me thinking in the previous strip “that doesn’t look like a fishing boat”…

    1. I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that this was the wrong kind of ship. Fortunately, a lot of fantasy cartoons make all boats look like the classic voyaging ship, so I figured I could skate by for a page.

      1. Yes, I would expect a fishing boat to be lower on water, and more open on the sides, for lines or nets.
Although it could have been a whaler, or some other long-range fishing ship. To quote the Canadian museum of history, “French, Portuguese and Basque fishermen were the first to fish for cod along the North American coast. From 1500, they fished and dried cod on the south and east coasts of Newfoundland and along the Strait of Belle Isle. ” They would fill their hull with salted cod and then ship back to Europe. I would guess they used ships more like voyaging ships than coastal ships.
But more tellingly, I would expect a fishing ship not to have portholes for cannons, if this is what I am seeing on the sides 🙂
