Long ago, I decided that if I ever put Santa Claus in a Christmas special, I would treat him as a normal character. I'm not wild about the idea of making Santa some unworldly spirit of giving. Santa's purpose is to teach us about charity and generosity. If he becomes more than human, then it becomes harder to use him as a role model. Besides, everyone loves it when Santa gets the last line, right?
