I’d like to thank Emily and Liz for helping me with the second part of that punchline. I suspect that this comic might raise some questions about me and my writing: I, myself, usually don’t indulge in fantasy romance, except for some Shojo Manga. It feels like the kind of thing Leslie would be into, though. She’s a bit sentimental. The novel in my comic is supposed to sound generic and cliché. If this novel actually exists, I don’t know about it yet. Yes, I did read The Twilight Saga. I neither loved nor hated it. It had some strong characters and interesting concepts, but I didn’t care for the pacing or writing style. However, I don’t like it when people make fun of Twilight either. Why? Because most of it seems less like a criticism of the stories and more like an excuse to bully, troll and embarrass the middle school girls who are into it. I’m generally not cool with people picking on middle school girls. Please do not actually tease the fantasy fans or drop their books off the roof. Clive is not a good role model. I did not get the name “Caius” from Twilight. I got it from Shakespeare’s play “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.” Apparently, this is also where Stephanie Meyer got the name Caius. You can tell because her Caius’s partner is named “Marcus” (go look it up.)
