Inktober 2019 – Part 2: A Full Deck of Ink Cards

Well, Inktober 2019 is over.

This was the first year I participated in that annual drawing event known as Inktober and I’m happy to report that I finished all 31 ink cards on time.

If you read the previous post, or if you follow me on social media, you know that I chose my own art theme for the event. I combined all the ink prompts with a status or ability from Kirby’s Adventure, the classic 1993 Nintendo game.

In hindsight, I really liked having a theme to tie all my ink pics together. I might not have finished if I didn’t have the incentive to complete a full set of something. Also, picking a theme helped me to plan my drawings. I knew which Kirby power would be matched to which ink prompt long before I started drawing.

But, you’re not here just to read about my process, are you? You want to see all 31 cards in one spot. Here you go:

#1 - Kirby Hi-Jump
#2- Kirby Sleep
#3 - Kirby Back Drop
#4 - Kirby Freeze
#5 - Kirby Hammer
#6 - Kirby Cannon
#7 - Kirby Star Rod
#8- Kirby Frail
#9 - Kirby Parasol
#10 - Kirby Beam
#11 - Kirby Ice
#12 - Kirby Fire
#13- Kirby Fireball
#14 - Kirby Needle
#15 - Kirby Sword
#16 - Kirby Spark
#17 - Kirby Ball
#18 - Kirby Mike
#19 - Kirby Cutter
#20 - Kirby Wheel
#21 - Kirby UFO
#22 - Kirby Crash
#23 - Kirby Stone
#24 - Kirby Dizzy
#25 - Kirby Hyper
#26 - Kirby Light
#27 - Kirby Laser
#28 - Kirby Warp Star
#29 - Kirby Ouch
#30 - Kirby Throw
#31- Kirby Normal

Will I do Inktober again next year? Probably, assuming no other projects get in the way. I’ve got 11 months to think of a new theme.
