Easter Egg Gallery 2023

Spring is here and so is another Lepus Studios Easter Egg Gallery. This year’s theme is “Rabbits of Super Mario Games.” I chose this theme to salute Easter Bunnies and The Super Mario Movie, which comes out this week. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Bunny Mario – Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins

Bunny power lets Mario jump higher and glide with his ears. I’d love to see this power-up return in another game some day.

MIPS – Super Mario 64

MIPS was the first of many rabbits that Mario has to chase for an important item.

Star Bunny – Super Mario Galaxy

The star bunnies are actually Lumas in animal form.

Pink Rabbit – Super Mario 3D World

This one looks sort of like a plush toy.

Earth Rabbit – Super Mario Odyssey

These rabbits appear in lots of kingdoms. Their moonside counterparts are a nod to rabbits in Asian folktales.

Harriet – Super Mario Odyssey

Guess I’m drawing bomb-throwing rabbits again.

Luigi Rabbid – Mario+Rabbids Series

It still seems strange that this cross-over exists.
