Time for another installment of The Full Moon Art Challenge. It’s actually past time, because, even though I remembered to post my monthly moon art on all my social media accounts, I didn’t post it on my blog until today – a shameful five days after the full moon had passed!
Anyway, please enjoy this picture of August’s moon, the Sturgeon Moon.
I actually had a good reason for being late with the post. I was on vacation in New Jersey, exploring the beautiful beaches and seeing some real fish. It was kind of fun to be sharing my sturgeon pics while looking over the actual water. I know sturgeon are thought of as fresh water fish (which might ruin that nice ocean imagery I’m describing), but they spend part of their lives in salt water, just like salmon. The term for fish that live in both salt water and fresh water at different point of their lives is anadromous, which is a word I just learned today.
Here’s the whole page. Three-fourths of this year’s full moons have passed already.
