Long ago, when I wrote that story about everyone becoming neighbors, I deliberately left Slasher out. I knew he would probably get his own origin story someday and I didn't want to eliminate that possibility by squeezing him into another origin story where he wasn't really needed. Actually Slasher has probably had about four different backstories since I created him in the seventh grade. This one will be a combination of some of the best ideas from the past, as well as some new ones, that are best suited to his current incarnation. No, we aren't going to find out why Caius is running around town with a sack full of papers yet. No one was really interested in that anyway, right?
