Full Moon Art Challenge 2022 – November

November is here, along with another edition of the Full Moon Art Challenge. November’s moon is the Beaver Moon, which rises on Tuesday the 8th.

This month’s full moon is a special one, as it is also the night of a lunar eclipse. It might not be the most easily viewed eclipse, as it reaches its zenith at 5:17am (Eastern-Standard Time.) But, this is the last lunar eclipse until 2025, so if you’re up early enough and it’s not too cloudy, you might want to take a look.

Here’s what my moon page looks like now. Back in January, it felt like this page would never be full. Now there’s only one little spot left.

I’ve really enjoyed doing this art challenge. I think it’s been good for me to give myself this little push and to try my hand at a community project. So, I do plan on running another Full Moon Art Challenge in 2023. I’ve already found a new list of moon names and I’ll be announcing these new prompts in December. Participants, stay tuned.

And, if you are thinking of participating, I recommend taking a look at the 2023 Lunar Calendar poster in my shop. It will certainly help artists follow the moon phases and keep on schedule. Spoiler: Next year’s prompts are actually written on the calendar. Check out the listing for a sneak-peek.

See you next month for the final full moon of the year: The Cold Moon on December 7th.
